Dear Beloved in Christ,
We are confronted with a growing crisis that demands our immediate attention and action. Around the world, the numbers of prisoners are escalating at an alarming rate. Especially concerning is the increase in the incarceration of women and young children, who find themselves caught in a cycle of despair and hopelessness.
Recent statistics reveal a staggering rise in global prison populations. Women, often the unseen victims of systemic injustices, are entering prisons at an unprecedented rate. Even more heartbreaking is the plight of young children, whose lives are disrupted and futures imperiled by early encounters with the criminal justice system. These trends reflect deeper societal issues that call for urgent intervention and compassionate response.
